The new Brooklyn Wind Turbine

The original turbine was removed at the end of last year and the new one erected last weekend.
This video is a time lapse record of the work. It got very windy on the last day so they waited until the wind dropped overnight for the final stages.
Today I went for a walk up the fenceline and the new construction loomed large over the trees.
It's not operational yet and the information area was cordoned off while they complete the commissioning work.
Here is a close up of the blades attached to the generator.
Everyone else was busy this weekend so to prove what a thoroughly modern man I am here is a selfie.
It was a breezy day but warm and with some sunny periods. Looking over the harbour one of the last cruise ships for this season was tied up. Soon they'll be heading to the northern hemisphere for summer there.
This view is over towards the heads with the two Pencarrow lighthouses on the far shore.

Getting a BFG-esque vibe from the selfie (giant person with tiny turbine). Very on-trend. Ed

I genuinely mistook the white yacht in the last picture for a big white shark fin for a second... Not my brightest moment!! Also wooo selfie Dad! :)
