Tulip Sunday

Another year, another tulip post. The day is tomorrow but we went down this afternoon to check it out. It had been a fine day with sunshine, clear skies and no wind but a showery change set in mid afternoon just as we were setting off.
The displays were not as intense as some years
but there was plenty of other colour around
and the magnolias are as magnificent as ever.
These two fellows were just practising I think.  They were in the Soundshell and playing some nice acoustic Celtic music.
Enough people - here are some smaller magnolias.

From the North

We have just returned from nearly six weeks away in the northern hemisphere. This first post is a brief overview of the whole trip.
We broke the journey in Singapore, just the other side of the equator.
There was good food throughout. This is our first lunch in Singapore.
The main reason for the journey was to catch up with family.
This is the Welsh countryside near Newport (Pembs).
No visit to Wales is complete without sampling the local wines.
We walked through some of the spectacular scenery along the Pembrokeshire coast
and also the rolling countryside of Devon. This is Exmoor with Dartmoor in the distance.
The north Devon coast can be almost as dramatic as Pembrokshire.
Then across the sea to old Ireland. We took Noreen’s mother back to the place she grew up in. Our children were keen to find out more about their roots. Sam and Bex discovered they liked Guinness.
We had some wonderful times together as a family, exploring, walking, eating and drinking.
Further details to follow....
