Last Thursday night quite a major storm hit the Wellington region. We suffered very little damage or inconvenience but Jenny wanted to see pictures so here they are. The most serious from my point of view was that the rhubarb was flattened. I'm hoping there will be no permanent damage to the plants.
Two small coprosma trees were felled. This one prevented me from getting to the compost container. But we were very lucky - across the road two windows were blown out
and elsewhere some quite serious damage to buildings, roads, railway lines and power supplies were reported. In fact some people are still without power and the Petone to Wellington railway line is likely to be closed for the rest of the week.
Here is a video of the scene around the south coast after the storm.
