One for Jenny

The northern hemisphere is fast approaching winter and peripatetic daughter Jenny is missing the warmth we are starting to experience. So here are some photos for her of the summery splendour that is our garden. The red flowering tree is a bottlebrush and tui love it a this time of year. There is often one or two having a feast when I come out to get the paper in the morning. They sing and chirp to an amazing degree.
The roses are coming to life after Noreen gave them an enthusiastic pruning.
In the back, daisies are colonising the lawn, I've put up a frame for the broad beans which have started to sprout and Noreen is hoping her sweet peas will make good use of those hoop-like supports.
We have some colourful flowers in pots,
and hanging baskets (they are a bit low and a definite hazard when walking about on the deck). In the background are herbs and the vegie box which this year has several tomato plants growing.
And on the subject of vegetables, I had to rebuild the framing for the plot at the side of the house. This is from 200 by 75 macrocarpa planks.
Finally, Jenny wanted to see pictures of the cable car terminal redevelopment. This is the current state of progress. You can't see much I'm afraid and I can’t find any definitive information on what it will look like when completed, but this was one of the proposals.
